About Our Pastor

The Reverend Dr. Bertrand Maurice Bailey, Sr. was born to the late Reverend Dr. Mauual Lee Bailey and Dr. Bertha Mae Bailey in McKinney, Texas. He completed his formal education from McKinney High School.  While in school, Reverend Bailey played football, basketball, and ran track for a number of years.  Pastor Bailey continued his education at Bishop College receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in philosophy and religion.  He received two honorary degrees from Short College and Jackson's Theological Seminary.
 
 
At the tender age of 16, he was called into the preaching ministry and shortly thereafter, he began his pastoring ministry in East Texas in a small town called Douglasville.  Pastor Bailey has been a guest revivalist for citywide revivals and local church revivals throughout this nation.  He has been guest lecturer for many colleges and universities. Pastor Bailey has also authored several books and has recorded music and preaching C.D's.

For the last 33 years, Dr. Bailey has pastored St. Andrew Baptist Church.  The membership has grown spiritually and numerically. The sanctuary and
the fellowship hall has been renovated.  Some of those renovations include a handicap bathrooms. Many ministries have been developed under Pastor Bailey's leadership.  For 26 years, the morning worship service airs on the radio station 970 AM every Sunday night from 10:30pm-12am.

Dr. Bertrand Bailey is married to Juandalyn Joan Bailey.  They have 11 wonderful children.  Their names are as follows:  Bertricia, Rev. Bertrand Jr., Rev. Bertrain, Rev. Bertheolophilus, Bertshalyn, Bertjuanette, Rev. Bertholomew, Bertrina (deceased), BerTabitha, Bertrick, and BerThaddeus.  They have eleven precious grandchildren.
